Exciting news! We have a new cottage, Church Cottage, that we have just added to our website this week.
It’s a beautiful Grade II listed thatched cottage, in the village of Catfield, in the heart of the Broads, but only a short drive from miles of sandy beaches. The village has a great pub within walking distance and a village shop, but it’s only 3 miles from the town of Stalham where you can find all the supplies you might need for your holiday including the shop, Truly Local, which only stocks produce from within a radius of 40 miles.
In a nutshell it:
– Sleeps 6 in 4 bedrooms
– Large, bright lounge with open fire
– Dining room with baby grand piano (yes really!)
– Kitchen with table and seating
– All major appliances including dishwasher, washing machine
– Utility with toilet
– Downstairs bathroom
– 4 upstairs bedrooms, accessed by separate staircases
– Mature wrap around garden
– Free wi-fi
– 10/15 mins drive to many nearby sandy beaches
– In the heart of the Norfolk Broads
– Welcomes two dogs
– Various dog supplies provided
– Bedlinen and towels provided
The cottage has been extended over the years with several add ons providing generous accommodation. Wonderful for a family get together, two small families, friends and couples who enjoy generous living space, with flexible sleeping arrangements across a quirky, individual layout. One bedroom leads from the kitchen with its own narrow staircase, and the other three interconnect from a second staircase. A real historic building of character.
It has a wraparound mature garden, with a mixture of fences and hedging borders. There are flower beds, a large lawned area and a sunny patio area. Great for relaxing in after exploring the area, or just stay home and relax!
You’ll find current rates and up to date availability and lots more detail on the pages below.
The village church is opposite the cottage; you could go listen to bell ringing practise on a Friday evening, explore the network of paths by walking or cycling the beautiful countryside. Visit the nearby Broads, or take yourself off to one of the many nearby beaches of Sea Palling, Winterton-on-Sea, Happisburgh or more. Take the kids to Bewilderwood, a steam train or visit the seals at Horsey. Find out more about the village of Catfield.
