When exploring social media, in order to promote my business, I had little idea of how useful it would become meeting and chatting with lots of other people in cyberspace. I have learned so much from strangers who have been willing to share their knowledge, both of small business tools and holiday industry tips, and I have also enjoyed reading the stories of other small businesses. I regularly favourite tweets with interesting articles, email myself links and bookmark websites to look at and read another time. It has all contributed enormously to the success and growth of my business, helping guests book and enjoy their Norfolk holiday.
Back in March 2013, I was asked to do my first small business interview with Liz Dexter of Libroediting. We met on facebook, through a small business group. The interview is a very interesting process; being asked to analyse your business and how it started. It certainly makes you stand back and look at what you’re doing! A year later in March 2014, Liz did a follow up article and then in May 2015, the latest catch up has been published.
Liz asks a series of pertinent questions, which you can answer in many ways, so each interview does really reflect the business well and the path it’s travelled. If you are in business yourself or just interested in the stories of many other small businesses, do have a read of some of the other interviews whilst you’re on Liz’s site.
This month, having met via Twitter, I was interviewed by Andrew Knowles of Dorset Social, a social media training company. Andrew wanted to know how I had used digital marketing to grow my business. Read that article here: Cost effective holiday marketing.
I hope you enjoy finding a little more about me and my business and get in touch if you’re looking to book a Norfolk holiday any time soon!
